The model can change.
Your conversation shouldn’t have to.
One workspace for the work you have already done. We are developing a service that can switch between eligible AI models while keeping the conversation in the same place.
Try the handoff concept
The example starts with a proposal and a saved project fact. Simulate a model becoming unavailable, then reload this tab to inspect the same saved demonstration. No message is sent to a provider.
How the real feature is planned to work
The saved conversation would belong to the customer’s workspace, rather than a particular AI provider. Messages, permitted files and project instructions would be retained under account-specific access and deletion controls.
In Auto mode, the service would first look for an allowed alternative route. Cross-model switching would only use models compatible with the request, privacy settings and remaining plan allowance. The interface would identify the model that actually answered. Model lock would keep a chosen model instead of silently substituting another.
Saved history is not infinite context
A complete saved transcript and a model’s working context are different things. The design must select recent messages, pinned project facts and relevant earlier material for each request. Summaries may omit detail; preserved history is not a promise of perfect recall.
A limit on one model is not a limit on everything
A temporary model limit may permit an alternative. An exhausted total plan allowance must stop further billable requests or ask for an explicitly approved top-up. Switching models does not create free credits, reset provider quotas or remove usage restrictions.
Before this feature is sold, we need to validate authentic provider handoffs, customer isolation, partial response recovery, duplicate-action prevention and real cost accounting.
